WHY DID WE INVENT THE FAMILY GAME?
Our reason to exist is quite simply to help families do more family “stuff” together. As parents ourselves we have noticed that modern family leisure time seems to revolve around APPS, PLAYSTATION, X BOX, I POD/PAD etc.
In fact it is sometimes almost impossible to drag them away from the blasted things. They may be a very convenient distraction from having to do any real parenting and that is, to some extent, understandable in today’s world where many households have two working parents: each of whom are exhausted by the time they get home from work.
The kids pester and parents give in all too often.
But here is the rub – FAMILIES ARE NO LONGER COMMUNICATING PROPERLY ANYMORE!
As a society we had come such a long way since the Victorian era when `father’ had little to do with parenting and children were to be `seen and not heard.’ From the seventies through to early 2000 and something nuclear families were taking on some real meaning and whole families were doing things together (like going for walks in the woods or playing cards and board games together. Now we are going backwards! Kids don’t even want to so `stuff” like that.
Yet another rub. Our offspring are not learning enough communication skills both within the family and at school. SOME YOUNGSTERS ONLY HAVE VIRTUAL FRIENDS!
This is frightening.
So, we wanted to do something about this, and after quite a long winded path we invented THE FAMILY GAME.
In creating THE FAMILY GAME we took many things into consideration but the top two were:
BONDING MORE AS A FAMILY
HELPING WITH THEIR EDUCATION
